Okay now this is a good rider on my beautiful baby girl Brandi RIP. I miss her. Anyway first things first SHE NEEDS A HELMET!!!! She also needs to tuck her elbows in before she flys away! Her leg needs to be tighter, her but is to far out of the saddle. Please comment if you disagree

Bad Equitation on DreamHorse
Have you seen this rider! Look how far back she is! She is not with the horse, she is being pushed far back. This is what Dream Horse said about him: Win, Lose or Draw, aka "Winston" is a nice big 13 y.o. TB gelding who has Evented to Training Level with a good junior rider. Winston is excellent and very brave over fences. His USEA# is 112649. Currently continues in a professional training program on the flat and over fences at The Fine Equine Stables, Inc. (see web site for more info. on professional Irish trainer Bryan McDonald at www.fineequine2002.com) Nice mover. Suitable for a intermediate rider. Very willing and sensible. Goes in a snaffle. Jumps 3 foot with ease. DVD available to serious inquiries. Would also make a nice fox hunter prospect. Very nicely put together and athletic over his fences. Motivated seller,****priced REDUCED to $8,500.00, however, open to all offers!***** and that is exactly what they said! Enjoy!

Janet Salem's definition of an equestrian athlete!!!
1.She works really hard without complaint because she WANTS to be the best.
2.She is strong and fit. She doesn't just ride. She runs, hikes, swim. Riding or showing one horse per day is nothing to an athlete. One horse a day is EASY!
3.She rides anything she can throw a leg over for experience. She tries to figure it out & make it better, & shes greatful for the opportunity. The tougher the better.
4. She looks at difficulties as challenges and tackles them head-on. If she falls off she climbs back on and tries again.
5. She doesn't make excuses. She doesn't blame the horse for her own shortcomings.
6. She has disipline to work on her weak points even if it's not fun. She works without being made-to in a formal lesson or being told and nagged at by a parent. She uses her lesson times to learn new things.
7. She makes progress because she works and practices and is motivated to get better. She makes progress because as she learns a new skill or idea, she practices it untill she prefects it & then she learns a new one. That is progress. She doesn't waste time practicing the same mistake over and over again.
8. She doesn't let negative attitude hold her back. Negative attitude impedes progress. She turns frustration into focus.
9. She appreciates the commitment & devotion of her coach and her parents, and she is grateful for their help because she can't do it without them. She needs her parents' support, and she needs her coach's' energy and enthusiasm!

Equitation 103
Equitation 102
This is me about a year ago on my beautiful horsey Angel!Trust me I have way better equitation now!
This is also an example of bad equitation.
I need a little more of a crest release, but my back is straight! My leg needs to be a little tighter, and it needs to be brought up a bit.
When you first look at this you probably say look at that head!
Yes I used to put my head up like that, because I probably thought he was going bring his head and hit me or something!

Equitation
OK! I finally got together with the horse expert my mom! HAHA! Okay the main steps to becoming a great rider are:
1st heels down, stand up in your stirrups to push your heels all the way down it will help you a lot!
2nd shoulders back, there are things called shoulders back vests, they push shoulder far back!\
3rd hands together, if you dont; you look like a very sloppy rider with your hands going everywhere BUT! they did invent gloves; so you wont be able to see them move as much.
So thats the basic equitation tips; make sure you at least try to follow them! Comment your requests of other things you want me to show, and next time will be 2 point and equitation pictures! <3 Kendall

Equitation 101
Okay, I promised you the pics now here they are!Now this picture is of my friend Gabby and she is riding Tonka. Now this is an example of BAD equitation!
Her two point is horrible because she has NO crest release all she is doing is pulling on his mouth. her back needs to be straight not curved out! She also needs to stick her chest out and have her shoulders back!
